Jan 28, HP/EDS USD Lose 320 Million Court Battle Over Failed CRM System
EDS, now known as HP (Hewlett-Packard) Enterprise Services, have finally lost a long-running court battle brought against them in 2004 by British Sky Broadcasting (BSB) for a failed CRM system. The judge found that EDS "had lied to Sky in order to secure a contract". The legal action alleged "deceit, negligent misrepresentation and breach of contract" and seeked 709m in recompense. The final costs still need to be determined, but BSB anticipate that HP/EDS will have to pay out at least $320 million (UKP 200 million). OUCH!
