Mermaid is not the name of one product but rather the name of a collection of products (A Product line) from MetaASO Solutions. MetaASO is the name of the company. Mermaid products are free to the end user. They are the result of five years of research and development at MetaASO. They operate on a LAN (with or without internet) and on the Internet alike without any modifications. Mermaid products are totally configuration less to get them up and running. Just install them and run them. Though once started various features and performance parameters can be configured. Nothing needs to be changed in the software's to make them work on internet or on the LAN.
