Remote Working: Are Companies Putting Their Networks at Risk?
Remote working means employees are dependent on constant access to the organization's network. Their productivity is reliant on them being able to respond to email or accessing the company server at any time of the day. Employees' use of the Internet can also be problematic - having access to a broad array of e-commerce sites, file sharing environments and online communities can all pose security threats. The increase in mobile working means data security issues are growing in both scale and complexity. Due to the fact that employees are working independently and are outside of the centralized, physically secure office, they are vulnerable to network threats that are less common inside an office.
